The Pyeongtaek Korea Music Orchestra was established in 2024 to cultivate the cultural sentiments of Pyeongtaek citizens and to promote regional cultural arts
The Pyeongtaek Korea Music Orchestra seeks to widely promote the historical significance and value of Pyeongtaek’s music, including the legacy of the late Ji Young-hee, a master musician and the sole recognized holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage “Sinawi,” as well as the National Intangible Heritage “Pyeongtaek Nongak” and Gyeonggi Province Intangible Heritage “Pyeongtaek Folk Songs.” The orchestra aims to elevate the sounds of Pyeongtaek through traditional Korean orchestral music, transforming them into sounds that resonate throughout Asia and the world.
